We first contracted Nic to undertake some minor, but complex, renovations to our townhouse in West Melbourne. Based on our great experience, we re-engaged Nic in 2010 after we bought a terrace in West Melbourne that needed a reasonable amount of work to allow it to be occupied. We were overseas on the day of settlement and Nic began work as soon as we had taken possession of the property. We maintained in frequent email and phone contact with him for several weeks until our return, and trusted his judgment on work required during this period. At all times we found Nic to be very accommodating, available, open to suggestions from us and willing to talk through challenges, and to offer alternatives. We have no doubt that without his input and suggestions the renovation of our terrace -- both visually and in terms of liveability -- would not have been as successful, and we would not enjoy living in the property as much as we do. We were working to a budget and Nic at all times remained focused on getting the job done to a high standard, while keeping costs down. We appreciated him convincing us to proceed with several aspects of the renovation that we would otherwise have delayed, such as installing a new water heater and under-stair storage. In hindsight, Nic's advice to do these things at the time was absolutely the right one and would have cost us considerably more had we delayed doing them. Since then, we have maintained contact with Nic and have recommended his services to friends and colleagues. We would not hesitate to do so again. In fact, we have entrusted him with minor renovations of an investment property and are currently working with him on a major renovation to our West Melbourne home!
